Hey there!
For all of you, I am black.
For all of you, I am gay.
For all of you, I am Californian.
For some of you, I’m from the Bay.
For some of you, I am friend.
For two of you, I am son.
For two of you, I am brother.
For one of you, I am husband.
For one of you, I am dad.
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way. As an imaginative, inquisitive person, I’ve been crafting stories in my head ever since I was a child. It’s been my therapy, comfort, confidant, healer, entertainment, strength and so much more. And while much of my writing is about me, it’s also about what I’ve seen, where I’ve been, and what I’ve been told.
In 2011, I met the love of my life and the person who is my complete opposite in every way that doesn’t matter but the same in the most meaningful ways. I had almost given up on love—dating was so exhausting and filled with disappointment and lack of follow though; however, my best friend convinced me to give love one more try. Narrowing my focus on the things that really mattered, I told the universe that I needed COL: someone who was a little Crazy and spontaneous, Outgoing, and Loyal. Luckily enough, I got it in spades—some areas a little more than others.
When I was in my twenties, I was convinced that I would have children, three to be exact. I envisioned myself at soccer games, recitals, and PTA meetings. Well, if you haven’t learned yet, life is full of detours and that along with my husbands urging, led me to be a dog father for Bailey. Instead of extracurriculars on school campuses, every six weeks we’re up early and at the groomers.
Aside from the regular adulting, my home life keeps me busy with cooking, writing, reading, reality TV, and playing games.
